Kent Police Crime Commissioner Election

Donation protected
Weʼre raising £10,000 to help fund Omolola Oyewusi’s bid to become the next Kent Police & Crime Commissioner 2021.

Kent has been my home for the past 20 years and during this time I have seen drastic cuts to policing within Kent .

Our Police are under funded, they are put at risks on a day to day basis equipped with less resources to tackle crimes , yet the villains seem to walk away, even after serious assaults.

Crime is at an all time high especially Cyber crimes yet Government will tell us time after time that thing is OK.  Kent is becoming a diverse community and I have learned very quickly that it’s ordinary everyday people that are the most reliable and trustworthy to work with the community and help shape our Kent policing .

What we lack in influence we more than make up for in substance, openness, transparency, inclusivity and involvement is the key driver of my campaign. I have been serving my local community as a parish councillor and through my church ministry. I’m ready to serve my Kent communities on a larger scale as your police crime commissioner.

The pandemic has put immense pressure on our policing resources and responsibilities. People feel isolated and as a result unsafe, from city centre business owners to the owners of small businesses in rural areas, even people in their own homes.

The public believe the police, particularly senior officers, no longer see them or their concerns as a priority. The public believe the police have virtually withdrawn from the streets and no longer act as a proactive deterrent but solely as a reactive, politically driven force.

I will require funding that will allow me to compete on a level playing field alongside the other well financed candidates who are backed by big political party machinery. The average spent by most candidates is approximately £12,000, hence the total on here for £10,000.

If elected, I will report back to YOU, the People who I serve, the realities of the situation. I am determined to represent the people who would potentially elect me, and to serve their interests and address their concerns. If elected, I will do the job as it states as required. I will represent those who feel ignored and under represented, because I know exactly how that feels.

If you would like to help me raise funds to assist my campaign to be the next Kent Police & Crime Commissioner, it would be gratefully appreciated. The Elections Office states "We publish information about donations over a certain amount made to political parties and nonparty campaigners based on reports they provide to us. Returning Officers make returns prepared by candidates available for inspection after elections. These include details of donations." These might include donors' details and may be published if a donation is over a certain amount.
