I'm Kennita Watson, running for U.S. House of Representatives, District 17. I was born and raised in Cleveland, went to MIT for my Bachelor's Degree, and moved to the SF Bay Area in 1981, where I received my Master's Degree in 1989, and have worked at various companies including IBM and Sun/Oracle.
I am running for Congress because I think the government is doing, or trying to do, or claiming it's trying to do, many things it shouldn't - both with our money (for example, we don't need more bombers - which also impact our lives) and with our lives (we don't need a war on drugs - which also impacts our pocketbooks). A significant part of my career was spent as a quality assurance engineer, analyzing ways in which things are broken and suggesting the best ways to fix them. As your Representative in Congress, I would put these skills to work on problems faced by our country and by any problems of California that I can affect.
Contributions will be used to pay the filing fee to get my name on the ballot, to pay to publish a statement in the election guide, and to perform other campaigning activities as possible. Please give soon; I have only a few days to collect the remainder of the $1740 needed to pay the filing feee to get me on the ballot.
If you are willing to help me add another point of view to the debates, please contribute. Any amount that you can spare, even $5 or 10, will help to cover the filing fee.
