Dearest Friends Of Ken --
The Man Who Has Given Us More Than
50 Years of Southern California Tennis

On February 26, 2021, Ken Stuart underwent a 6 1/2-hour surgery to to remove a baseball-sized tumor which was diagnosed as stage 4 cancer.  Fortunately, the doctors were able to remove most of the tumor but the situation is still a big concern.

After three weeks of physical therapy, cognitive therapy and speech therapy, Ken was released from hospital -- but is far, far from out of the woods.

Ken's part of the medical expenses to date exceed $260,000, which do not include future radiation treatments, MRIs every two months, and MOST importantly, a very targeted pill-form of chemotherapy*  -- 250 pills per month every month for the rest of his life.  This critical medication requires a co-pay of $4,750 per month. [Without insurance, the cost of this treatment is $18,000 per month.]

Our Goal is SIMPLE, yet CRITICAL:  To cover Ken's out-of-pocket medical expenses -- and a fighting chance to give him some more time with us.

More about Ken Stuart:
A self-made, self-taught Southern California player.  A world-wide touring Pro.  A teacher. A mentor. An architect of professional and family tennis for more than 50 years.

Some know him as a professional team-mate.  A worthy rival.  A fixture at your favorite courts -- 7 days a week.  The man behind many clubs, but most notably, The John Wayne Tennis Club (now Palisades Tennis Club), named #1 Club in Southern California in 1976 -- only two years after its opening.

Ken Stuart's name is ubiquitous with unforgettable tennis experiences -- whether you were playing on Center Court or in one of the tournaments held at the club, Ken has put his touch on it.  Adoption Guild. Pacific Southwest. World Team Tennis. And that little-known event called DAVIS CUP 1997. USA vs The Netherlands [USA 4  Netherlands 1].

For these and scores of other related contributions to our sport, and nominated by icons Billy Jean King and Roy Emerson, Ken was inducted into the Southern California Tennis Association Hall of Fame in 2017.

Ken Stuart has given so much to the tennis community. And friends are responding to his medical emergency -- asking how they can give something back and support him.  A YouTube video can be viewed about Ken with the link directly below.

HERE AND NOW IS HOW YOU CAN DO IT.

* More about Ken's medication [Alecensa]:
Ken qualifies for this special form of chemotherapy medication because he is a non-smoker and is lucky enough to carry a specific gene known as ACK. Only 2% of the population has these unique qualifications. It also accounts for the cost of this life-saving drug.
