Keep The Children Local

My ex-wife served me with a summons to get the court to change our custody and child support arrangement so that she can take them permanently to the state of Washington.  This move is after taking a vacation to the state and liking it.  It is not a required move.  Her husband still works here in Georgia.  I'm an active dad that goes to their soccer events, school functions and anything else they need me for.  My current wife is also an active parent.  The kids love her too and both of us would be missed by them if they were taken away to another state.  I believe that children their ages, 13 and 14, need both parents to make it through their teenage years.  We also have aunts and cousins only two hours away and their grandparents come here about once a quarter and wouldn't be able to do that if they were that much further away.  They have their friends and teammates from living at their current location for as long as they have and they will be taken away from them too.   After meeting with a couple of different attorneys I have discovered that attorney and court fees can range from $50,000 to $100,000 to reach a final judgment.  Since I just finished court with her for custody proceedings that ended May of last year I just can't come up with that much and protect my children from the move.  Every dollar donated will go to these court proceedings.  If I raise more than I ended up needing my intent would be to give the rest of the money to a family type nonprofit that could use the leftover funds.  I will continue to use as much of my own resources as I can.  I don't like asking for handouts but I just can't keep up with these large fees and keep my family fed and secure.  The attorney I would like to use needs a $7,500 retainer.  This will be the first of the money used.  She said that will last about a month and then it will need to be replenished.  The first month is the quickest burn of the money because of all the filing she will have to do.   Thank you so much for reading my story.  Any help you can give will be appreciated.  I wish I didn't have to ask and I know it is important to follow this through.
