Asking neighbors and loved ones for help is a very hard situation for us. We are Don and Lydia Zenda. We have always tried to work hard and pull ourselves up by our own rain boot straps, then life comes at you hard. Lydia, my best friend, was my hero surviving as a single mom without child support monies caring for an elderly homeless man she adopted. She could weather the storm. She saved our butts when we were newly married. Securing us a home and her an income when I messed up and relocated us. She admired me and my ability to raise a family on one income and live in a house in town after building myself back up from living in a cramped trailer with a wife and two kids. I was her hero.Now we have been married eight years, the kids are all grown and out of the house. And we are struggling. My heart has decided to pay me back for all that hard living. Congestive heart failure has knocked me to my knees. Brain fog they call my inability to think. Shortness of breath from fluid build up and general fatigue from loss of heart muscle function. I cannot work I cannot cover expenses. Being this incapacitated has thrown Lydia for a loop. She has always worked despite having severe mental illness. The last couple years she has really suffered and now my inability to communicate or provide has made matters so much worse. We are dangerously close to losing the roof over our heads. The tourist season is starting and there will be more work opportunities. Lydia is eager and willing to return to work. She also is utilizing her skills and creativity with gardening and art. Right now we just need a little help to keep our head above the water as it were. we are sure if we can just make it through this month we can get back on our feet. We love our home town, all our family and friends. Thank you we are blessed to be a part of this world. This is not easy for us and we really do appreciate any help up. Thank You again
