Help transform lives by keeping Nyora Studio open!
Nyora Studio (Nyora), located in Melbourne, Australia, is an arts and crafts centre, a teaching and learning space that has hosted thousands of people. It opened in 2003 and is owned operated by artists Emmy Mavroidis and Aldo Bilotta

Right now, Nyora’s future is under threat and Emmy and Aldo need $50,000 to pay for a lawyer and help defend their right to operate their business, as they’ve done for the past 17 years.

The Nyora experience, changing lives one at a time
Nyora is regarded by many as a special place, its unique in many ways.

While Nyora offers workshops in life drawing, sculpture, printing, individual mentoring, an artist in residence program and more. It’s the passion and commitment of Emmy and Aldo to give their students, teachers and visitors the best possible experience.

Here’s what former students said.

“…  a place where artists are nurtured and they’re individuality honoured and supported, Nyora’s influence has had a powerful and far-reaching effect, with many of its teaching artists and artists-in-residence establishing careers at the forefront of Australia’s contemporary art scene.” - EWagner

Nyora’s future is under threat
“There isn’t another place like Nyora and it is a gem in Nillumbik Shire, which has a long history of the arts in the broader Melbourne community. It would be a loss so great if anything should change there.” - ASinclair

Right now, Emmy and Aldo are preparing to defend their right to operate their business. They need $50,000 to pay for an experienced lawyer to represent them.

In December 2021, Emmy, Aldo and their lawyer, will attend the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) to present their defence case. Their opposition has hired a big city law firm and are disputing Nyora’s right to operate as an arts and culture centre.

Emmy and Aldo are generous people, committed to making a difference to people’s lives. They don’t like to ask for help, they tend to be more the giver than the taker.

Fundraising is a huge step for them, but a necessary one, as they’re financially and emotionally exhausted.

Without legal support, they could lose their business. Be part of the Nyora experience and help keep Nyora open!

DONATE NOW!
All money raised will be used to pay for a lawyer to defend Nyora’s right to stay open.

A very big thank you,

Emmy and Aldo, Nyora Studio
