In times of great strife it’s up to us to hold each other up. I’m writing to ask for support for one of our own, Paige, who has fallen on hard times-right in the midst of this storm of uncertainty we are all dealing with. It’s a really rough time to ask people to donate.
So here’s the deal :
Following her dream, Paige worked and saved every dime to sign a lease on her very 1st apartment.
While anxiously awaiting her move in date, Paige joined the Rocket Dog Rescue team on a rescue mission to help animals in Puerto Rico (helping to spay and neuter 1156 animals in 6 days!)
While there she met a skinny little stray who stole her heart on the spot. On the plane ride back Paige was overflowing with love and excitement to move into her first apartment with her first dog. She named him Aladdin.
Once back home, in a sudden and terrible twist of fate, Paige started having crippling pain and was rushed into the hospital for emergency back surgery.
A few rocky days into recovering from that - a terrified Paige was checked back into the emergency ward with life threatening blood clots.
When she woke up in the hospital all she wanted was her pup, Aladdin.
Paige is safe now, shes pulled through the worst of it - with that sweet dog, her lil soulmate, curled up by her side.
Paige is facing {at least} 2 months of Rehabilitation and will be unable to work during that time.
Here’s where Paige most needs our support:
to cover the rent and utilities while she heals- to ensure that she and Aladdin have a place to live so she doesn’t lose all she has dreamed for and worked towards....
A little of our personal history
As a kid - for 4 years, every Sunday, Paige volunteered to help the animals at the Rocket Dog Stonestown adoption events, she jumped in to offer hands on help with rescues, manned t-shirt booths to raise funds for the animals.
And over the 11 years of her whole family volunteering with Rocket dog -they adopted 5 dogs and fostered so many. But mostly, the whole family is our family. Kind, caring and willing to go that extra mile to help anyone in need.
