But today, we face an urgent challenge.
Recently, the granite pedestal supporting one of our beloved sculptures, Entrance to Jerusalem, collapsed, causing damage to the piece. This alarming event prompted us to assess the structural integrity of the bases of all our sculptures. The findings were sobering: sixteen sculptures were identified with potential issues, and four are in critical condition, requiring immediate base replacements. Without this urgent intervention, we risk not only losing these precious works of art but also jeopardizing the safety of our visitors.
Our garden is more than just a museum; it’s a place where art lives and breathes. Charles Umlauf’s wish was for his art to be accessible, interactive, and touched by all.
