As many of you know, Natalia Martinez is a wonderful and hardworking human being. She never stops moving-literally- and is a prime example of what teamwork really is. She is a burst of positive energy in every situation and ALWAYS exceeds satisfaction when it comes to getting her job done. She works harder than most of us combined, goes above and beyond to make sure you are having a successful day, and ultimately, she is there to put a smile on your face.
A couple days ago, a few coworkers and I were having brunch and noticed that Natalia was also working at the restaurant we were eating at, in addition to the restaurant we all work in (BJs). We were so excited to see her and learned a little bit more about her story.
Natalia picked up a second job because she is wanting to ensure a permanent and stable future here in the United States. With a deadline of September 11th, she has to gather paperwork, a lawyer, and quite the amount of money to ensure her residency here in the US. She currently has her Green Card but due to current immigration laws changing, she now needs to meet certain deadlines and take appropriate measures to make sure she can permanently stay. It is very clear she is terrified and her biggest concern is being separated from her 14 year old daughter.
I never thought that what is going on in America with immigration would ever affect me in any way, but now I, as you do too, have a chance to help keep a family together and support someone who absolutely deserves it. Natalia has not asked for any help, and is very modest when it comes to talking about the financial burdens of the situation-which is also why she has no idea this fund is being created (with the hope that it will be a nice surprise at the end of the month/beginning September). I have created this page to help with these burdens with hopes that at least every shift, for the next few weeks, we could donate a portion of our tips; even if its only a few dollars (a little really does go a long way) to the fund. Any extra help would be tremendously appreciated.

Who else is going to pre-bus our tables as much as she does ;)
She rocks, and we are not only fortunate to have her as an incredible coworker, but also as a friend.
