Keep Jagen Home for His Baby Girl
Spende geschützt
Expecting in March, father is facing 3 years in prison for first offense. We urgently need to hire a criminal defense attorney. Funds are so tight we often struggle to take care in the ways we need, and we are starting to lose hope. Jagen has been on an ankle monitor that has racked up $2000 in fees over the last 6 months, and still facing 3 years on top of that, which we believe is extremely invalid in this case. Jagen was standing his ground. Jagen walked to a store while intoxicated and was approached by a man who started asking him personal questions. Jagen tried to dismiss his questions by telling him to mind his own business. The guy then asked if he was trying to fight. Jagen stated he was not going to fight anybody while he was intoxicated and that he was carrying a LEGAL weapon if the man did try anything. Jagen then stepped out of the store where he was arrested by the police. The man took it as a threat and called the police on him, even though he anticipated fighting an intoxicated man and approached him first with random questions. The only reason it is being considered ‘unlawful use’ is because it had a bullet in the chamber. Jagen was arrested and bailed out 3 days later. Nobody was harmed. Jagen does not deserve 3 years in prison over this incident or to not be able to see his baby girl for her first 3 years of life; nor does she deserve to spend the first 3 years of life without her father. We are hoping to get a lawyer in hopes he can get his charges dropped to public intoxication and class B misdemeanor instead of a class A felony. Jagen does not have a criminal mindset; he made some bad decisions as a young and intoxicated 22-year-old that he has exceedingly turned his life around since. He is extremely scared to go to prison; he works his butt off as a flattop roofer and has one of the most passionate hearts I’ve known. Jagen has ambitions for life, and he is not a dangerous person nor a threat to anybody. He wouldn’t do anything to anybody unless it depended on his life and safety or those he loves.
