UPDATE: October 27
Gert can stay in her Family Home !!!!
Thanks to an anonymous party that has purchased the property, Gert will be allowed to stay in her family home for the rest of her life. This is truly a miracle and proof that there are amazing and generous people in the world!!
The Eaton Family so appreciates all the support and love you have shown during this challenging time. The funds collected here can be used for Gert's needs to stay in her home, or can be refunded if desired. Please contact Trudy or Wendy ASAP if you would like your donation refunded.
Again, thank you all for everything you have done for Gert.
Our campaign is to help an 85 year old woman, Gert Eaton, stay in her family home where she has lived for over 60 years. Applecrest Orchard promised her family that she could live in her home on the orchard for as long as she lived. Now, owners of Applecrest have given her short notice to leave and say they need to sell the property where her house resides. We hope to raise enough money to buy the parcel of land and house where she has lived, or to provide a new living arrangement so that this hard-working, lovely 85-year old woman can live out her remaining years in a safe and comfortable home.
Gert Eaton has worked on Applecrest Farm Orchards in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire for over 50 years. Her father planted the first apple trees in the orchard and was instrumental in establishing the entire farm business. Gert worked many long hours at the farm during her life along with her husband and children, being paid a minimum wage so that she could live in the little yellow house on a piece of the orchard belonging to Applecrest.
Gert's children, Everett Jr, Alan and Trudy, have setup this GoFundMe campaign to enable Gert's many friends, co-workers, and family to help. The short notice of Applecrest's plan to sell the property, the threat of eviction, and the stress of losing her family home at age 85 have taken a great emotional toll on an elderly woman who had expected to live out her years in peace.

Gert would be so grateful for any assistance you can give to her. She is reluctantly accepting that she may have to move, and finding an affordable place to live quickly is going to be hard and expensive. (Her children's homes cannot accommodate her). Her family also greatly appreciates any support you can give.
