Keep Geraldine In Her Home

Geraldine has been trying to get her home back from the Storehouse of Hope Community land trust for years. We have reached a critical point in her journey and ask for your help to raise the remaining funds needed to save her home. This money will go towards buying the home from Storehouse of Hope and putting the land and deed back in Geraldine's name.

Reverend Joan Ross has agreed to sell Geraldine’s home back to her. While we are concerned that this has not been formally written down or made legally binding, we are hopeful that Ross will honor her verbal agreement. As we continue to wait for the paperwork from Ross, we are excited to launch this fundraiser to get over the final hurdles of Geraldine and her sons owning their home!

For those who are new to this situation, Geraldine lost her home to tax foreclosure and it was bought in the auction by Storehouse of Hope Community Land Trust. Though the land trust was initially presented as a way to regain her home, it has been 6 years and Geraldine still doesn’t have her house. Necessary repairs were not made to the property by Storehouse of Hope and blight tickets started piling up.  What Geraldine wants is simple, a divorce from storehouse of hope and her land and deed back.
