Help Ben Martens Stay Independent in His Home
Donation protected
Dear friends,
Ben Martens needs our help!
You may know him from OHS (class of ’94), as the Chicken Q Guru, or from seeing him drive his chair around Onalaska in the summer. He has done so much for our community, and it’s time to take care of him.
He needs to be able to stay in his home. His bathroom desperately needs to be repaired to accommodate his unique needs. Ben uses the sink to pull himself up from the toilet and into his wheelchair. Between an old water leak and the force of his weight with extremely limited leg control has taken a huge toll on the integrity of the floor. The subfloor, and flooring needs to be redone in addition to some plumbing work to make everything is structurally sound.
This is time sensitive folks. We have estimates coming in from contractors, but we know this won’t be cheap. And work on mobile homes is even more expensive.
We understand times are tough for so many right now. If we can all spare a little bit to help our friend, we can get this taken care of for him.
This fundraiser is being coordinated by Ben's classmates Kari (Mader) Freitag, Beth (Frechette) Davidson, and Cindy Van Riper-Bey.
** We want to make it clear that all monies raised are being kept in a special account with multiple people overseeing it to ensure funds are properly managed and put to their best use. No cash from this will be kept at Ben’s home. **
