Keenan and his sunken boat!

Last weekend Keenan, an angel within the boating community, woke up to his boat sinking. With the water quickly rising, he did he best to save his belongings, and in doing injured himself so badly he had to go to hospital. Over one week later he’s still there, on morphine to manage the pain and waiting for surgery.

To add insult to absolute to literal injury, some absolutely rotten people have stolen various things from the now sunken boat. All three solar panels were removed, and the generator, and over the course of the week it looks like more thefts have taking place in search of anything salvageable. I’ve since put a sign on the boat to let people know it’s not abandoned!

Keenan is still in hospital, unsure of when he’ll be able to have the necessary surgery to fix him back together and be released, and currently he’s looking at over a year of rehabilitation.

He’s a total sweetheart and anyone that knows him will know how kind and passionate a person he is. Ridiculously creative too, but now in a very dire situation of no home, with no power if they are able to refloat it, no clothes, and few belongings. The only saving grace was that he was able to save his laptop and hard drives so he can still make music.

For these reasons I’m setting up a crowd funder to see if anyone can put some money in the pot to getting him back on his feet. The money will go towards getting the boat (his HOME!) refloated, repaired permanently, the bottom painted and the solar panels and genset replaced. I for one don’t know what I would do if this situation, but I know that I’d appreciate the financial assistance no end. So please, if you can spare even a few pounds, donate what you can.
