Hello, we are Christo and Crystal
We have been fortunate to be living on the road as full-time nomads for one full year now. Upon our travels, we have been touched and inspired by the locals from the magnificent places we have visited. Our next big journey is taking us to South Africa for three months. While we are visiting this magnificent country we want to help enrich the lives of those who are sharing their home country with us by giving back a little.
We will be devoting some of our time to providing humanitarian efforts in the country as well as bringing a couple of large suitcases with items in need that might not be easily obtainable there. Upon doing some home research and speaking with a couple of locals including a current humanitarian in the area "Yvonne In The Bush" we have compiled a list of items and tasks we think would be beneficial to the local children and families there. This is where you come in! It would be amazing to take any additional supplies and money with us to share with these locals during our one to one interaction. Seeing the faces of the families these funds will help, and on occasion sharing their stories through our Youtube channel will also give you the satisfaction that your donation went to a good cause.
Thank you for your consideration in helping out less fortunate humans, even $1 will help.
Your Funds Support:
-School Supplies for children and local underprivileged schools
(this may include crayons, pencils, solar calculators, books, rulers, English–Swahili dictionaries etc)
-First aid supplies and feminine hygiene products
-Cash will be given directly to families on a one-to-one basis. We have been instructed that this is largely beneficial to the families in need as they know what supplies they need best and supports the local economy.
Whatever goods can be purchased from within the country to support the locals and business owners will be done there. Everything else will be checked luggage with us on our journey from NYC to Johannesburg SA with guidance from the Pack For A Purpose organization.
Since we will already visit South Africa, none of the raised funding is spent on travel, food or lodging during our stay as it would be with a typical humanitarian-based project and means 100% of your donation will go right to the people you intend it to impact. No mailing fees, salaries, or the wildly long list of administrative fees from a non for profit organization need to be covered. We will deliver the supplies and money with love and care just as we know you would if you were in our position.
We are excited at the possibility of seeing the magnificent landscapes and animals but even more than that we are excited to connect with the locals. Exploring a culture is more than eating their food, hearing their stories, and dancing to their music. It is giving back to the people who encompass that culture and sharing our culture back with them. Our Journeys to South Africa will be covered in a weekly story on the Youtube channel youtube.com/@thecristolshow . This fundraiser is meant to help people first and our goal isn't to exploit people in exchange for content. Giving to the locals and providing valuable assistance off-camera is our primary goal. When we have made a meaningful connection with those we come in contact with, and when capturing their story is an organic experience for both parties, then we look forward to sharing the people behind whom the fund is meant to impact.
As you may know, we both ask our friends and family to refrain from giving us Christmas gifts, we would rather any monetary value go towards a shared experience. This year we would like to transform what might otherwise have been a holiday and birthday gift and pass it on to those in much more need than ourselves. We want to thank you for trusting us on this mission and appreciate your generosity.
