KC Legends Red Road to Nationals

We are Kansas City Legends 09 Red. We qualified for the US Youth Soccer National Championships in Orlando, Fla., on July 19-22 after winning the Midwest Regional Championship and Kansas State Cup.

 

We are thrilled about this accomplishment – the result of years of dedication and practice. We are only the second Kansas squad to advance in the U13 girls' bracket of this prestigious national tournament over the past 25 years. But the tournament fees, flights and hotel costs for the length of the tournament are very expensive and may make it hard for us to seize this opportunity.

 

Our team embodies a truly positive and diverse United States. We have players from all types of backgrounds and social-economic standings. Many of our players are first- or second-generation Americans with family ties all over the world.

 

But what truly makes them special is that they all come together to work as a team.

 

Some of us have been together, under the guidance of Coach Matt Iverson, since we were in first and second grade. All of us have been working hard to support each other, and we’ve achieved a remarkable month of May and June that saw us outscore our playoff opponents 58-7.

 

We are so excited to have qualified for this tournament, but we need your assistance to get there. We are raising money to help many of our team and their families cover the substantial expenses of traveling to Florida.
