Kate's Medical Mystery Tour

Crowdfunding for yourself? Rough, huh? Well, turns out this whole Medical Mystery Tour I've been on for close to a year now has taken not only a further toll on my health, but my wallet as well.

For those of you who don't know, I do have one diagnosis currently which is Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. (POTS). It causes a whole host of debilitating problems on its own (mostly related to being upright). And through absolute exhaustive research, I've found at least five other conditions I strongly suspect. All very common with POTS.

There are very few specialists in Minnesota for any of the conditions I'm seeking care for. The waits are long and my health continues to decline. The more I untangle the many symptoms and start to put puzzle pieces together, the more serious some of them are.

I made the difficult choice to go down to part time at work last summer which has already left Drew and I very tight on expenses. We won't even go in to the medical bills or what it costs to be this sick.

I have an appointment with a neurologist who specializes in POTS at the end of January. I'm hoping and praying he will be able to refer me to all the right specialists I need to see.

The road is only longer from here. I'm hoping to raise some funds to take a short leave of absence from work while I take care of myself, and manage appointments.

The support I've already received from many of you is incredible. I'm horrible at asking for help, but I can't be stubborn anymore. Anything you can do (even if that's just sharing) means the world to both Drew and I.
