Karen the Mad Cat Lady Needs Us – Help Injured Cat Tom
Spende geschützt
Hi everyone,
Most of you will know Karen Whiting — aka The Mad Cat Lady! She’s a truly lovely person with a heart of gold, especially when it comes to animals. Karen has once again stepped in to help a cat in need — but this time, it’s come with a potentially huge vet bill, and she needs our support.
I’m setting up this fundraiser on her behalf, to help cover the cost of life-saving treatment for a cat named Tom. Tom is only 8 and has a life ahead of him, and has been fending for himself years in the cementry, lets get him the life he deserves
Tom’s Story
I first met Tom in Weston Cemetery. I used to see him regularly on my way to my nearby Pilates class and always stopped to say hello. One day, I noticed he was injured. I tried to find out more about him but hit a dead end — so I turned to Karen, knowing she would know what to do.
It turns out Tom was living as a stray in the cemetery, but he is microchipped and registered to an owner — an owner who, heartbreakingly, didn’t want anything to do with him anymore. This made things very difficult. Legally, vets couldn’t treat Tom unless he was signed over — but the registered owner refused to do so.
Despite the roadblocks, Karen took him in and started doing what she could. During this time, she also met a kind couple who regularly visit their daughter’s grave and had also been caring for Tom — feeding him and looking after him. Together, Karen and the couple made sure Tom was safe and loved, and for a while, he lived quite happily at the cemetery.
Then Disaster Struck
Just a few days ago, Tom was found in terrible pain. He had been hit by a car and suffered a serious pelvic injury. Finally, the registered owners agreed to sign him over, and now Karen and the couple are jointly taking responsibility for his care.
Tom needs an urgent operation at a specialist vet (Davies), and the bill has already reached a staggering £2,934, with more costs expected.
How You Can Help
Karen and the couple have stepped up without hesitation to do the right thing for Tom — but they shouldn’t have to carry this financial burden alone. That’s why I’m asking for your help.
Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly towards covering Tom’s vet costs and giving him the second chance he deserves. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page so we can reach more kind-hearted people.
Thank you so much for your time, your compassion, and your support.
Let’s help Tom get back on his paws.
