“Kamryn & Friends” Bracelets For Unity & Justice

My name is Ron Johnson but this story is not about me. It’s about a little girl with a big heart.My wife & I have always taught our daughters to love others. After the death of George Floyd our family had a feeling of numbness. Then came the riots in Minneapolis, which made us feel even more lost.
First KFAN Radio (iHeartMedia) in Minneapolis reached out. The only thing I knew I could do to help was to go on the radio and talk about my experiences as a black man. More importantly I wanted to talk about what was next for our city. At the same time our 9yr old daughter and her friends had an idea. They wanted to make and sell friendship bracelets and lemonade. They wanted to unite our community and serve others. The mission started with wanting to buy supplies for Minneapolis residents in need. After getting off the radio and just a small mention of her bracelet sale, it began to grow. It grew into being able to provide financial support for businesses. We had no idea it would turn into this. We’ve decided to create a GoFundMe account so that more people from all over have the ability to donate to her friendship bracelet drive uniting people one bracelet at a time.
Her story can be seen on Fox 9, ABC News and coming soon Good Morning America on ABC. GoFundMe seemed like an easier way for people to support vs sending to our Venmo accounts and writing checks.
The funds will be withdrawn by us. We will put the funds into our donor account through Fidelity Charitable Giving. "Kamryn & Friends Giving Fund by The Johnson Family"
We will be donating money and buying food/supplies for:
1. Sanctuary Church Food Drive
2. Kyle Rudolph Food/Supply Drive for Minneapolis
3. Supplying funds to rebuild the businesses that were affected in the riots.
Through the charitable 501C3 account we will be giving money to the Chamber of Commerce to give funds to the Minneapolis businesses that aren't fully supported by their insurance company to reopen. We want to come alongside them to help them get their business back open.
***To order a bracelet please donate and then leave an address where you'd like them shipped in the comments. If you are concerned with leaving an address you can make the donation private so no one can see your comments. For us to ship the bracelets please note they are $8 each. Any additional proceeds will go to the relief efforts. Please let us know how many bracelets you'd like. Limit to 5 bracelets per donation and if you want more than 5 please send me an additional message and we can try to accommodate you, as larger orders take longer. We want to make sure we are sending them out to everyone and not over working those involved in the bracelet making process as these are handmade.
