Kaid's Care & Recovery
Donation protected
On the night of August 26th, Kaid Hurd was in an accident. It was sometime before he was found and admitted as a John Doe. His family was already frantically looking for him and was notified of his location and condition. He spent several days in ICU at Washington Regional. After a few days, he was taken off the respirator and showed signs of cognizance. Every day his body and mind are healing, but it will be a long road to recovery. Some moments he is lucid and recognizes his mother. At these times, he is concerned about his daughter and her care. Some moments he is in a different year, a different life, a different persona.
Those who know Kaid know that he is an extraordinary young man who has worked so hard to overcome trials and tribulations. He is a fantastic father that works hard to provide for his beautiful daughter. Kaid started school three weeks ago to better his life and future. He was full of smiles, excitement, hope, and pride as he took these next steps.
Now Kaid is on a different path that will be slow and long, requiring intensive therapy and rehabilitation. His doctors have recommended a specialized neurological clinic, Neuro Restorative, an inpatient clinic that can provide the care Kaid needs. He will be there for quite some time, outside of insurance coverage.
Kaid can not earn an income during this time; his only concern is his daughter's needs and well-being. Rent, groceries, diapers...they all still have to happen.
We ask that if you can help, please do so. Please know that it is much appreciated by Kaid's family, friends, and community.
If you would like to donate outside of online means, you may drop it at his place of employment, The Farmer's Table Cafe, and it will be deposited into an account set up for Kaid's expenses.
