Just a couple of weeks ago this opportunity came to me when I discovered the service trip to Nicaragua in March 2018.
A little background on where I will be going:
In 1998 about 1,500 families were moved permanently to two cow pastures as a result of the devastating hurricane Mitch's flooding (more than 6ft of water fell in 5 days). The families named their new home Nueva Vida meaning NEW LIFE and are now apart of Ciudad Sandino, the most densely populated city in Nicaragua but also one of the poorest.
A small group of students from GCU are going down to help build the 3rd health clinic for the people living in Sandino. 1 is for the general public and 1 is a female clinic for maternity needs. The nursing students (me) will also be working in the clinics that the previous volunteers have built. We will be brining down any medical supplies donated to us and just try our best to help rebuild their home and provide them with the best health care we possibly can under these conditions.
Please feel free to look up Nueva vida, Nicaragua as they are in desperate need of help.
I can't express my gratitude and appreciation enough for any/all help and support from you to allow me to go to Nicaragua and fulfill my dream as well as help the community of Nueva Vida.
