Special Delivery to a Special Marine
Seeking to fund Marine wife’s trip from her parents’ house in Pennsylvania to her home in San Diego so that her husband, who has just returned from a 7-month deployment, can finally meet their new baby.
It has been a long, hard deployment for Stephen and also Courtney, who has had to go through almost her entire pregnancy without her husband. Stephen will not be home in time for the birth of their first child, who will be two weeks to nearly a month old by the time her Dad gets back to his home port.
Stephen thought he would be able to fly to Pennsylvania to drive his family, including their two Great Danes, home, as soon as the ship returned to home port, but he will be required to stay in San Diego for at least an additional 10 days for debriefing.
Stephen cannot wait to meet his daughter and Courtney cannot wait to see her husband, so funding is sought for Stephen’s father, Adrian,and Courtney's father Scott, to rent a mobile home to drive Courtney, the new baby girl, and the Great Danes, Zeus and Bentley, to San Diego, where they live.
While training for deployment, in May, Stephen and Courtney found out the happy news that Courtney was pregnant with their first child, a girl, after 3 ½ years of marriage. Stephen deployed on July 25. Shortly afterward, not wanting to remain in California, far from her family, with her husband deployed, Courtney packed up Zeus and Bentley and drove with the two dogs to her parents’ house in Pennsylvania.
Courtney recently found out that Stephen’s ship is scheduled to return to San Diego in late February and that even then he will not be allowed to join her in Pennsylvania for another ten days. She therefore needs to get back to San Diego to greet him and introduce him to their new baby.
We are seeking to fund this trip considering the sacrifices Stephen has made for his country.
We appeal to all of you who support our troops, support the youth of America and love dogs. Please support our Marine, his loving wife, their beautiful daughter and their loyal Great Danes.
