Building a Family...One Step @ a Time!
Jake and Melissa Brown have been on a journey to start a family
for the past two years that has been filled with some great joys and some paralyzing
tragedy. We, as their family and friends have stood by their sides through this
journey and now we have the opportunity to act! As we know Jake and Melissa are
courageously exhausting all efforts to start a family and after a long road
filled with so much emotion there is still a chance!
Their story begins back in 2005 when Jake and Melissa were
married, bought a home, landed great jobs and started thinking about expanding their
family. They were blessed to find out they were pregnant in March 2010!! It was
an exciting 20 weeks until Melissa started to have complications.
Unfortunately, at a little over 21 weeks on January 4th, Baby Ben was born
beautiful and perfect, but was too little and not ready for the outside world.
Jake and Melissa were able to hold their son for a few hours and tell him how
much he was wanted and loved! Through the tears and heartache, a beautiful
family was also born that day!!
It has taken time, effort and healing to get to today where
there is a chance to help Jake and Melissa build their family again. Through the
opportunity of IVF, Jake and Melissa are candidates and are hoping this last
chance will be their miracle! As they have learned through the past two years
there is only hope...hope that through collective resources, prayer and faith;
their family will grow and the best part is that we can all be a part of their
