Michael Needs Our Help

I am asking for help in raising money for my friend Michael Falica who is in need. Michael is a member of my most recent men's group, and he is only 18 years old. He has a very courageous story as he has lost both of his parents and fully provides for himself: mortgage, all bills, college, etc. Never once have I heard Michael complain about his situation, and he always has an extremely uplifting, positive attitude. I have had the privilege of getting to know him and grow with him these past 6 weeks.

Less than 2 weeks ago, there was a tragic incident that happened that has left Michael in a really tough situation. As I mentioned before, he lives by himself in rural Illinois. An intruder broke into his home in the middle of the night and beat him with a softball bat, crushing the majority of his face, breaking his jaw, and breaking his wrist. He has undergone multiple surgeries and now has his jaw wired shut, being forced to eat only protein shakes and water.

Michael had plans of working as a nurse in the hospital as a CNA before attending college at Eastern Illinois to get a degree in nursing. Right now he can't work and can’t speak with his jaw wired shut. He has medical bills, a mortgage, and many other expenses including a laptop as he prepares for college.

With all of this being said, it's incredible to witness Michael continue to have such a great heart and keep a positive attitude through everything.

He never asked for any help, so I am asking for him. I want to use the audience I have here to help Michael through this tough time. Whatever you feel you can give it all is greatly appreciated.
