United States Dressage Federation Gold, Silver, and Bronze medalist and trainer, Mimi Benton of Arkansas, is in need of our support.
After a normal day of working the farm and training a youth rider, Mimi had to have emergency surgery on November 11, 2024 for Intestinal Malrotation and Volvulue, a highly invasive procedure resulting in a huge incision across her abdomen and the removal of her appendix and cecum pouch.
The irony of an accomplished equestrian and trainer having the human equivalent of a colic surgery has not eluded us and Mimi is determined, as always, to reach and exceed these unexpected challenges. The recovery and cost involved for this life saving procedure is going to be difficult, but Mimi will get there.
Mimi is self-employed with a training program facility in Hot Springs, Arkansas ran solely by herself and her husband Charley who is a retired, disabled US Marine.
Mimi and Charley are in need of our support during this challenging time. Mimi is recovering at home after a week in the hospital. Financial strain goes without saying with Mimi unable to train, travel, or teach.
Please join us in showing our support for our fellow equestrian during this time of need.
