Justice Over Bullying
Earlier this week my daughter was assaulted by a bully at school. She is a 10yr old 4th grader and the bully is a 12 yr old 6th grade boy. My daughter has recently been released back into public school after being home schooled for over a year. She felt comfortable and safe being home schooled, away from the distractions and menace from other students. Being a single mother, I just couldn't handle the home schooling while nursing her new born baby sister. Reluctantly, I enrolled her back into public school. Ever since, she has been a target for this particular bully; constantly harassing her on the bus and becoming violent. SEVERAL calls were made to parents, teachers, bus drivers etc, to no avail.
This week her bully proceeded with his usual taunting which resulted in him physically assaulting my child, leaving her with a black eye and head laceration. Once again, more phone calls and meetings followed, unfortunately, we just aren't getting the help we need. I posted a photo of her bruises on Facebook just to reach out to family and friends asking for advice on how to take appropriate action. Unbeknownst to me, the photo went viral with over 45,000 likes, comments and shares. I am still overwhelmed with the out pour of support. However, this has been a daunting process to find justice and solace for my little girl. While my mother and I are relentlessly working towards securing some sort of legal council, my number one priority is the mental and emotional well being of my daughter. This has been a traumatizing event for her and she is having a difficult time processing what has happened and why. How can I explain to a 10 yr old that she was targeted and beaten just for being herself? God help me! I am reaching out asking for a $1000 donation to assist in this process. To aid in support of the welfare of my child and any other expenses that may arise in the pursuance for justice and accountability for my little girl. Anything will be a blessing.
