On September 16th at approximately midnight,  Miss Kamiah Bird left our world for the next. She was only 37 years old, and on her birthday this year, we're launching this fundraiser to honor her memory.  The circumstances are a gross injustice for her, her loved ones, and her many many friends.  We who are left behind to process this sudden tragedy, are left asking ourselves, "why her, and what more can we do?".  She was such a beautiful, bright-shining light to us all, and in her absence, we're left with a dimmer world.  Unfortunately, this is a horrific epidemic which too many of our Native families are dealing with, and the epidemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women must stop.

After a discussion with her mother, I asked if it would be ok to set up a fundraiser to offer a REWARD for any information that will lead to the arrest of the person(s) who so violently took her from us. We will be in communication with the Las Vegas Metro Police Department and CrimeStoppers to support the on-going investigation, which at this point, has no new leads. We believe that someone out there knows something, and we hope to encourage them to speak out on behalf of everyone she leaves behind.

Should the LVMPD not require the funds for a reward, the money raised will then go directly to https://mmiwusa.org/donate.html

MMIWUSA is a charitable organization fiscally sponsored by Tryon Life Community a USA registered 501c3 nonprofit, donations to MMIWUSA are tax deductible.  We are fighting for these women because we want the perpetrators to know that the families will fight back to get their daughters and loved ones back. We are also amplifying their voices to create awareness so that lawmakers and law enforcement can no longer neglect this issue. Lastly, we are also working with young women, through our "Staying Sacred" program, to give them the tools to prevent these tragedies. Your donations are crucial for this effort.

We will not let her legacy end with violence, we will continue to push for justice for her, and the many other families out there hurting and healing.
