WE KNOW THAT WOMEN ARE 2/3RD’S MORE LIKELY THAN MEN TO HAVE ADVERSE CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCES BEFORE THE AGE OF 18. WE KNOW THAT THESE VERY EXPERIENCES WILL NEGATIVELY IMPACT THE TRAJECTORY OF THEIR LIFE CHOICES AND CHANGE THEIR BIOLOGY BY INFLUENCING THE ONSET OF INFLAMITORY DISEASE. WE MUST ACT NOW FOR THE GREATER GOOD OF WOMEN AND SOCIETY.
This August, our all-volunteer Board of Directors and all-volunteer staff of senior and peer mentors look forward to providing our fully immersive enrichment program with 12 young girls, ages 9, 10, and 11. Our primary focus on positive identity formation, character development, and civic responsibility will build the resiliency of this group of girls, living in an at-risk community; best preparing them to face whatever adversity life may present.
Right now, YOU have an incredible opportunity to positively impact the future of young girls! At an age when young girls are inspired by dreams for their future, we tailor our programs to the interests of each unique girl, promoting growth and building resilience in safe, well nurtured, outside of the classroom learning environments and making a positive impact on young minds. We provide much-needed resources and learning opportunities so that Girls may develop GRIT = Passion and Perseverance*, skills necessary to fulfill their dreams and aspirations in good health with a mind to the greater good.
Thanks to the commitment of donors like you, we can help young girls develop self-awareness and self-motivation, personal confidence and abilities, and core values such as respect and kindness towards others.
We can continue to cultivate interests, practice, purpose and HOPE; alongside every valued mentor.
We can inspire young girls like AMANDA AND LEXSANNI (pictured) to become the leaders of the future.
