Just In Case Carolyn Hall Clark

Hi, I'm Carolyn Clark. I'm a local server/ bartender and Mom. I recently started a task force to assist in distributing life saving fentanyl testing strips and Narcan for no fee, with no questions to teens and others in need.

My 17 yr old bright, funny and sweet son Ryker passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 8th, 3 days before his 18th birthday. He died from an accidental drug overdose. Although not confirmed I've been led to believe he ingested seemly innocent pills that were laced with fentanyl.

Ryker was my only child and the light of my life. As i am beginning to deal with the greif and mourning of his death. I realized that should he have been able to test the pills he consumed or had I been armed with Narcan his life may have been saved.

So as part of my healing process I have decided to devote my time to educating others and arming teens and those in need with life saving material.

As a part of that processing in the months since his death. I have formed a task force. We are called Just in Case. The group consists of health and human services workers, recovery specialists and law enforcement

Although these people have been amazing with their ideas and resources, they are regulated as to their time spent as well as availability to distribute these life saving supplies.

To promote my mission and assist with wide spread availability at no cost, or questions asked. I have been asked to attend several events. Including but not limited to. OBX shredfest, Dare County Motorcycle Toy Run, Vusic fest concerts and Walk Against Addiction.

I'm asking for assistance to purchase fentanyl education posters, logo stickers and other printed materials. I'll also need assistance to purchase a basic computer to assist with emails, distribution and event scheduling. I've been doing everything from my phone.

In the future these funds may be used to purchase more fentanyl test strips. I also may need help paying for gas and food as I attend these events.

I appreciated every donation as well as all the help I have received. I refuse to lay down and I cry. I'm going to stand up and scream. If I can prevent one mom or family from having to deal with the pain I feel, and save one kid. My sons life will not be in vain.
