ICE Separated Family
On December 31, 2020, Sarasota Sheriff stopped my fiancé, arrested him and he was taken by ICE to the Krome jail in Miami, where he remains today. Our family is suffering his absence terribly, as you can imagine with our four children wondering when he will return.
He calls me many times daily as he awaits his third court date where he may be sent back to a country his parents left when he was 14, fleeing the cartel. He is a very well-liked barber and the main source of income for our family. Junior is a loving father and we are expecting a baby in September. He was unable to come to our doctor’s visit when I heard the baby’s heartbeat and saw his/her picture.
To date, the local Sarasota attorney and the Miami immigration attorney have jointly charged $7,500, with more charges expected if he is granted bond.
We have always been self-sufficient, active members of our church and volunteer in our community. We are uncertain as to what the future holds for us, but we remain faithful that there is a greater purpose, and that he will find his way back to us.
