Josey's dental hygiene trip to Tanzania, Africa

I will be traveling to Tanzania, Africa April 29th - May 9th through the Village Life Outreach Project (VLOP) https://villagelifeoutreachproject.org/ Dental Brigade to provide care to the residents of the Shirati village. This fundraiser will go directly towards the flights, lodging, transportation, and supplies I will need during this Brigade!

Village Life Outreach Project’s Oral Health Program is rooted in the belief that oral health is integral to overall health. VLOP's Oral Health Program is expanding and aims to develop and strengthen dental care and oral health in this area. With the University of Cincinnati, community partners SHED (Shirati Health, Education and Development Foundation), local dentists, and primary healthcare workers, the objective is to set up Dental Brigade for outreach through oral health education, screening, and treatment. VLOP's goal is for the communities in the area to live free from disease and improve their quality of life.

This journey to Tanzania will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for me learn about and appreciate the culture, the people, and the land as well as provide care and education in a part of the world eager to learn the value of improved oral health.
