Jose's Legacy: Aid for His Loved Ones
Donation protected
My father Jose Gonzalez, was a devoted man to his church community. For over 15 years, he served as sacristan for the Misión San Jose and St Peter Catholic Church in Deland, FL. for the Spanish mass and Hispanic community.
My dad was a mechanic and worked from home so that he could have time to take my brother to specialists and all of his doctors appointments.
In October of 2021, he was diagnosed with renal kidney failure, thus putting him on dialysis treatment for the rest of his life.
Despite the circumstances, his faith remained strong, and he continued to serve his community until he required in home hospice care.
Our small community has done their best to continue to provide for my mother and brother, who are both also disabled.
My brother, Juan is 27 and has ASD (Autism spectrum disorder) and is nonverbal. He is completely dependent of other’s care and requires supervision. He cannot provide for himself nor my mother.
My mom has two bad knees and struggles with maneuvering around and looking after herself on her own. She requires help to complete small tasks.
My father recently passed away, and I couldn’t figure the words to publish this through the tears. So I’ll also speak of myself.
My name is Allie, I am a disabled veteran. I served five years in the Marine Corps at MCAS New River, in Jacksonville, NC. I was medically retired after having back surgery. The surgery was successful however I cannot maneuver without cortisol injections and extensive physical therapy.
I am a mother to two small children which makes it difficult to have a job with my condition. I am lucky enough to be a stay at home mom due to my VA benefits and my partner who works full time. He is also a veteran and served 4 years.
Recently, we were blessed with a second baby. She is a month old, so our family has a new blessing to Love on.
I have been doing everything that I can to help my mother and brother with their finances and making sure they have warm meals during such a difficult time —aside from juggling a breast-fed newborn baby and looking after a very active toddler.
All of the funds, will be going towards funeral costs and anything left over will be used to cover my mom’s bills and help pay for meals, etc.
My dream is to raise enough funds for a house with more bedrooms to look after my 69-year-old mother and disabled brother.
We really appreciate all the effort everyone is putting into helping our family and the support in providing for my mother and brother.
**I estimate the memorial will be on Saturday, December 21st, 2024 @ 9am at the “Misión San Jose” in Emporia, Fl.
We are still waiting to hear back from the father before we decide on an exact date**
