Después de un año lidiando con problemas en el sistema digestivo y gastrointestinal, a Joseph, con 19 años, le diagnosticaron una enfermedad autoinmune llamada Enfermedad de Crohn. La enfermedad de Crohn es una enfermedad crónica con manifestaciones intermitentes que afectan principalmente al tracto gastrointestinal en toda su extensión (desde la boca hasta el ano).
En la actualidad no hay medicamentos ni procedimientos quirúrgicos que puedan curar la enfermedad de Crohn. Las opciones de tratamiento tienen la intención de reducir los síntomas, mantener la remisión y prevenir las recaídas. Cuando hay una recaída, es muy dolorosa y los síntomas como fatiga, diarrea, fiebre, dolor abdominal grave y depresión, varían en intensidad. A lo largo de un año, desde Agosto de 2019, las entradas de Joseph al hospital han sido contínuas y costosas. De igual manera, el tratamiento
médico es muy costoso y necesario para controlar los síntomas que debe tomar de por vida.
El dinero recaudado será para cubrir las deudas médicas (3 cirugías, varias hospitalizaciones y diversos estudios especializados), y de igual manera cubrir en parte o en su totalidad el tratamiento para controlar la agresividad de la enfermedad.

After a year dealing with problems in the digestive and gastrointestinal system, Joseph who is 19 years old, was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Crohn's disease. Crohn's is a chronic disease with intermittent manifestations that mainly affect the entire gastrointestinal tract (from the mouth to the anus).
There are currently no medications or surgical procedures that can cure Crohn's disease. Treatment options are intended to reduce symptoms, maintain remission, and prevent relapse. When there is a relapse, it is very painful, and symptoms such as fatigue, diarrhea, fever, severe abdominal pain, and depression vary in intensity. Over the course of a year, since August 2019, Joseph's hospital admissions have been continuous and costly. The medical treatment is also very expensive and necessary to control the symptoms that he must take for life.
The funds will be use towards paying the medical debt (3 surgeries, hospitalizations,a many specialized testings), as well as to cover the costs of the medication to control the aggressiveness of the disease.
