JOSÉE RUNS THE PERIMETER.
On September 7, starting at 5 AM, I’ll be running the entire perimeter of Winnipeg.
This is something I’ve been building up the courage to do for years- not just as a personal challenge, but as a way to be a voice, a support, and a link for others who may need it.
I’ve lost two people close to me to mental health and not a day goes by that I don’t think about them. In the aftermath, I’ve felt a deep pull to help others who may be struggling too. This run is my way of turning grief into something meaningful - something that might help someone else keep going.
My goal is to raise $10,000 for men’s mental health- a topic too often pushed aside or left in silence. But it’s real. It’s urgent. And it affects so many. This run is a way to make some noise and bring it to the forefront.
Over the next five weeks, I’ll be sharing my training journey - every early morning, every long run, every hard moment leading up to that first step on the perimeter, and every kilometer after.
If you’ve ever lost someone, if you’ve struggled yourself, or if you simply believe mental health matters- I’m asking you to donate. Whether it’s $5 or $50, every dollar reminds someone they’re not alone.
We can come together. We can create change. We can make people feel seen, heard, and supported.
Frank, Marc- every step of this is for you.
And to anyone reading this - if there’s someone in your life you want to show up for, I hope you’ll come along for this one.
