My name is Gillian Bryce. I am a parent and committee member of the City of Glasagow Swim Team.
I have decided to cut my hair to kick start our fundraising for the Johnstone Shearer Memorial Swim Meet and the Beatson who helped look after Jono.
My hair will also be donated to the little Princesses who make wigs for children who have hair loss due to medical conditions. Once my hair is cut I am then going to bravely have it shaved for 1 of our mums and fellow committee member Gerry Lawlor who is quite unwell just now.
My hair is 31” from root to end, I have been growing it for a few years now. There will be 24” donated.
Johnstone (Jono) was one of our young coaches and he swam for us when he was younger. We were all saddened by his passing this is the reason we hold the Memorial Swim Meet to keep his memory alive.
I will have my hair cut by my friend Joanna in the Foyer of Tollcross Pool on Tuesday the 7th may 2019 at 7pm.
