Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we can all agree on how complex, overwhelming, and unpredictable life can get, and most of us have learned that throughout our lives, you can never be too prepared. On June 30th Jonathan Depina was involved in a horrific motorcycle accident where he was ejected from his motorcycle, thrown 20 to 30 feet in the air, and landed on grass rather than concrete through God's grace. Jonathan sustained numerous injuries, including breaking both legs, both pelvic bones, breaking one arm and fracturing the other. This is not the first time Jonathan has had to go through a traumatic experience, but one of the first physically. Jonathan, now 32 years old, lost his mother to breast cancer at 11, leaving his father and three oldest siblings to continue raising him. But it wouldn't be too long before tragedy struck again, and his older brother and one of his older sisters were murdered in a double homicide in 2010, leaving him with just his dad and oldest sister. Growing up for him was a struggle, in the form of finding a silver lining to make sense of it all. Jonathan’s injuries were very intense, coming close to losing a limb, and his life and recovery will be prolonged. Now we as a family are trying to execute as many resources as possible to help sustain Jonathan’s expenses to help him stay on track with his recovery and overall life. There's no such thing as a small token of gratitude.
