Jon Tenney YWAM Missions Trip
In January 2018 a team and myself will begin our training in Townsville Australia in order to prepare us for our journey to the outback. After 6 weeks of classwork we will be sent to some of the most remote parts of the Outback to reach a hurt and neglected group of people. During the following 6 weeks we will be working with the Aboriginal tribes of that region and building relationships that will open their hearts to Christ. Aside from sharing the gospel we will also be delivering medical supplies, assisting teachers in the classroom, service projects, and being a light to this group that God has laid on my heart.
When I first began to look into missions’ trips I knew the only place I really had thought about was Australia. The country and aboriginal culture is fascinating. Out of nowhere God opened a huge door, and I prayed for more doors to open and for his blessing to go ahead and make the arrangements. More doors began to open, obstacles were moved, and any and all doubt was put to rest. This trip is completely different than anything I have ever done, because even though I am the one going, it’s not about me! It’s about God wanting to reach a certain group, and I am just fortunate enough to be the one who he is allowing to do it.
