Family and Friends,

We are starting a campaign to help Dara and the Mah family and we need your help! As you may know, Gordon was diagnosed with a form of pancreatic cancer in the summer of 2023 and began intensive medical treatment. Unfortunately, pancreatic cancer currently has no cure. Despite Gordon’s valiant efforts, he lost the battle against this merciless disease and passed away on December 21, 2024. If you ever crossed paths with Gordon, you likely had a conversation (or read/listened to) about technology where he gave you advice on which rig (and accessories!) was right for you. Just like his podcast suggested, he was The Full Nerd when it came to all things tech, a role that he wholeheartedly assumed. Your chat was informative and sprinkled with sarcasm; and made you laugh; and he almost always found a way to weave in a Star Trek reference. Whether or not you were seeking technology advice, you also saw Gordon behind the camera-where his true kindness shined through the lens. As Glenn and Marianne agree, his love for technology and photography was infectious and he removed the intimidation of having your picture taken. He creatively used photography to embrace and explore around us and saw it as a tool to be used in showing what’s good in the world. Glenn and Marianne relish in the privilege of being able to share their dad with the broader tech world over the years and along with mom Dara are now asking for your help. Despite having reliable insurance, Gordon’s treatment and needs involved with his care were very costly and has left the family with significant financial strain. While it’s difficult to imagine a world without Gordon or even to process our grief, we can help ease the financial burden and resultant stress that the Mah family is facing as they figure out their next steps.
