Join Marc's Fight Against Cancer

I am a friend and coworker of Marc Pate. Marc was diagnosed with head and neck cancer in 2024. Myself, many other friends and colleagues are hoping to give support to Marc by raise money while he is out of work allowing him to focus on his treatments and healing.

Below is summary from Marc explaining his story and some of the challenges he has faced.

May of 2024 I was diagnosed with head and neck cancer. I wanted something better for my care so I went to MSK in NY. I ended up getting into a trial study for radiation treatment. They have a better radiation machine which has been proven to have little or zero side effects after treatment. I came home to start my chemo and didn’t want a port put in but decided to do one. I had one chemo treatment then I got an infection from the port. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks due to an infection in my blood and disc. They released me once the infection was out of my blood. They took the port out and put a pic line in. For a month I had to inject myself 3 times a day with saline and the antibiotic to get the infection out of my disc. Unfortunately I was out of work for 6 weeks. MSK is out of the picture for now. I ended up back in the hospital from a bug I caught. At this point I have been out of work for nearly 2 months and do not know when I can return. My immune system obviously isn’t where it used to be. I still need to finish my chemo-radiation treatment.
