Join Juan P. Alvarez in his fight against cancer
Spende geschützt
Family and Friends,
Many of you already know that a few weeks ago my brother in law, Juan Pablo, was diagnosed with testicular cancer. As you can imagine this is the kind of news no one is ever ready to hear. It all started with Juan noticing a small lump on his right testicle. He contacted his primary physician and was scheduled for an ultrasound. On July 17 he went in for the ultrasound and the following week we were given the bad news that the lump was a solid tumor. From there he was scheduled for surgery on July 28 and underwent a right orchiectomy, which is where they removed his right testicle. Thanks to everyones prayers he came out of surgery well and his recovery was fast. Since then he has undergone multiple tests such as CT scans, MRI's and pulmonary function tests. His first CT scan revealed he has two tumors in his abdomen, requiring chemotherapy. If chemotherapy does not shrink the tumors to a smaller size he would have to undergo additional surgery for the tumor removal. Juan has an appointment with his oncologist on Friday, Aug. 21 to find out what the plan will be with starting chemotherapy.
As Juan begins this difficult journey any help that you can give will be greatly appreciated. All funds will go towards his medical costs such as: CT scans, Ultrasounds, MRI's, chemotherapy, copays, possible additional surgeries. Funds will also aid with costs associated with sperm banking and annual costs for storage. This will also help with any future IVF expenses.
I will update you along the way as we continue to learn more as to what the next steps will be. Juan and his family appreciate your support and love and above all else your continued prayers.
