Join Gloria's Battle Against High Grade Glioma

Dear Friends, Family and Supporters,

With heavy hearts and a deep sense of urgency, we are reaching out to our community to share devastating news about our beloved daughter, Gloria Mirella. She has recently been diagnosed with High Grade Glioma (WHO grade 4) brain cancer and we are facing an incredibly challenging and uncertain journey ahead. Her doctors have referred her to the Make A Wish Foundation.

Gloria had surgery on 03/21/24 to remove a 10cm tumor at Children's Hospital. After leaving the ICU, Gloria continued receiving specialized care and treatment from doctors and nurses. The past month has been filled with therapies, MRI's, EEG, medications and testings. Her pathology results revealed brain cancer and she is to start proton radiation as soon as possible. Gloria was denied at St. Jude because there are no clinical trials available for her condition and Gloria's insurance through her father's work did not cover proton therapy. Proton radiation therapy will cost $75,388 and our application for financial aid has been denied. Therefore, we will have to come up with this amount out of pocket.

Gloria is a bright, resilient, and courageous young girl who has always brought joy, love, and inspiration to everyone around her. Her vibrant spirit has touched the lives of many. Her faith is as strong as a rock and is her guiding light. It provides her with hope, strength, and resilience to face the unknown with courage and unwavering trust. This has become Gloria's favorite bible verse:

Deuteronomy 31:6

Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.

The news of Gloria's diagnosis has left our family in shock and disbelief. The emotional toll is immense, and we are grappling with a range of emotions, from fear and sadness to hope and determination. As we come to terms with this devastating reality, we are committed to doing everything in our power to support Gloria in her fight against brain cancer.

The journey ahead is still filled with medical appointments, treatments, radiation, and ongoing therapies to gain back her left side mobility. The financial burden of these medical expenses is overwhelming, and we are reaching out to our community for support during this incredibly difficult time.

We have created this GoFundMe campaign to help cover the cost of Gloria's medical expenses which include chemotherapy, proton radiation, medications, and other ongoing therapies.
