Imagine being a couple living with disabilities (on a fixed income) without HVAC and a 49-year old roof that doesn’t shield you from the elements of nature. In spite of enduring harsh physical and environmental conditions, you choose to shield others from the austere elements of life.
This story is about Kristen, a resilient lady—battling cerebral palsy, who fervently serves her community by going to the streets to feed the homeless every Sunday and participating on the personal encouragement team at the church.
Joe, who is Kristen’s husband, refurbished the homes of others in need as a General Contractor before suffering from vertigo. It is time to harvest the ancient proverb, “you will reap what you sow” for Kristen and Joe.
We invite you to assist us in returning the favor to these benevolent heroes by replacing their roof in mid-September and supplying heating/air before the onset of the rainy season which begins in early October. With the condition of the shingles, they know the roof will not make it through the fall season.
All donations will be collected by the Mission Church in Vacaville, CA http://missionvacaville.org/about-us/our-staff/ (Marlene Hurst, Accounting Department) and given to Joe and Kristen.
