Johnny’s family has created this account to assist a 57 year old grandfather and recovering alcoholic with over 31 years of sobriety who has rescued his 2 grandsons, ages 10 & 12, from a very negative and dangerous environment in Florida and relocated back to his hometown Duluth,MN.
Upon returning to Duluth, Johnny has recently lost his home in a divorce, has relocated to another residence with the assistance of family and recently scraped the barrel for the $400 to get his 14 year old van back on the road.
Employment options are extremely limited without reliable transportation to/during/from employment as well transporting his grandsons to school and other positive, healthy activities he is trying to secure for a well-rounded life to the best of his abilities.
Your donations will provide much needed financial assistance regarding his immediate transportation needs as well as forthcoming legal fees to ensure his grandsons are not returned to the negative environment from which he rescued them and remain under his guardianship custody.
Johnny has worked all his life, always paid his own way and has put his life completely on hold to secure a safe and healthy environment for his grandsons. He has truly stepped-up-to-the-plate; and, now he needs help. The family is actively involved in doing what we can, but his needs exceed our combined financial abilities.
We have set the goal at $10,000.00 which should allow for a more reliable vehicle to secure viable/stable employment and to assist in the pending legal fees to keep the grandkids in a loving and safe environment.
