Fish For Families

During an unprecedented time of Covid-19 pandemic we are seeing empty grocery shelves, more people without work, and a decrease in available protein products. This has impacted food banks at an even larger scale when loss of work has shown an increase in need.

Sharky’s Charters has recognized an opportunity to help their community by doing what they do best….Fishing. The Sharky team - Captain John Blanchard, and Captain Jeffrey Vanderlinde are fishing for families. Taking their own families out in effort to adhere to the social distance order, using their own boats they are catching local rockfish outside of Charleston, Oregon.

To date the team has donated over 1000 lbs, of local caught seafood to the Coos Food Cupboard to feed local families.

Sharkys would like to continue to fish for our community and expand the fleet with other local fishermen to increase the catch and thus donations to feed more families in need. 

To help towards this cause, we are asking the community to donate money toward current and future expenses for purchasing fish from local commercial fisherman and USDA approved facility processing costs for donated fish.
