On June 14th, 2020, John unexpectedly went into liver and kidney failure. After several weeks in the hospital, he was moved to hospice and passed away peacefully at his home in Kansas City, Missouri on July 5, 2020, surrounded by family and friends. John leaves behind two beautiful daughters, Abby (age 15) and Brooke (age 14), and Kelley, his wife of 17 years.
John was special; no one was a stranger to him. He was a story teller, loved to talk, and tell jokes, his presence filled a room. In his younger years he road dirt bikes competitively and alongside his dad enjoyed horse racing. He was a loyal supporter of all things Kansas City, the Royals and the Chiefs. He loved baseball and as many proud Dad’s do, helped coach his daughter Brooke’s softball team.
John was a talented electrician and 18-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 124 (IBEW). Starting out as a young apprentice he moved quickly up the ranks and eventually earned his title of Master Electrician. He loved to build and work on things and was always available when a friend needed a hand.
John would give you the shirt off his back and would secretly do acts of kindness for those in need that crossed his path. He was generous with his time and knowledge and was a "tell it like it is" kind of guy. You always knew where you stood with John.
We’re heartbroken, and John will be profoundly missed.
This memorial campaign was set up in response to the many requests from those looking to help John’s family. The money raised through this page will help alleviate the financial burden left by his unexpected passing and provide support to Kelley and the girls. Primary use of the funds will be to cover medical bills, expenses, and an education fund for Abby and Brooke.
