Hey everyone, I've got a really good cause that could really help a great family that is going through a terrible time and is in need of some help. I've been travelling through Asia since last January, and my first 7 months were spent in Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines in a neighborhood or "barangay" called Guadalupe Nuevo. Guadalupe is a great place with a lot of great people, however it is definitely not a wealthy area by any means. Shortly after arriving there, I befriended a 17 year old, soon to turn 18, kid named John Ferdinand who lived with his family near the hotel that I was living in. Over the course of the 7 months that I stayed in the Philippines, I grew very close to him, his 16 year brother, his 16 year old cousin, and I knew both of his parents. They are some of the best people that I have ever been blessed enough to meet in my life. Tragically, "Johnny Boy" died of a heart attack on 1/14/24. His family is devastated, and they could really use some help with funeral expenses, food, medicine, and money just for basic human necessities. Poverty is a major problem in the Philippines, and his family is definitely struggling pretty bad. If you want to score some good karma points, and help a very deserving family in need, please make a donation. What's a little to us Americans goes a long way in the Philippines. These people don't have health insurance, retirement funds, credit cards, etc., etc. like we do in the USA. Any amount will help and be greatly appreciated, even $1 if you can spare it. His family is very poor, even by Filipino standards. They have no electricity in their home. It's my goal to raise enough to get them electricity, and hopefully a laptop for his 16 year old brother. He and his brother were closer than any 2 brothers that I have ever met. IMAGINE HAVING NO ELECTRICITY IN YOUR HOME. They have described to me how difficult it is to sleep in 90+ degree weather with high humidity when you can't even run a fan. Maybe we could even get them an A/C unit!!! This family has been dealt some really tough blows. This is an opportunity to make something good come from this horrible tragedy, and change a very deserving family's entire life in a very postitive way. It would mean the world to me for Johnny to see his family struggling less than they did throughout his entire life while he looks down on them from Heaven. No donation is too small. Please help these wonderful people!!!
