Edinburgh to London for Jody

Hi I’m Vicky,

On the 12th of January 2024 my friend Jody Oxley passed away after a long 9 year battle with cervical cancer. Jody was 29 years old. It’s truly heartbreaking. Jody was a loving mum to Lilly aged 8 and Marshall aged 11, a partner to Andrew, a daughter to Linda & Dave, a sister, granddaughter and friend to many.

Jody was such a gentle soul and adored by all who met her. She adored and cherished her lovely children with every inch of her being. It breaks my heart that Andrew and their children will have to carry on doing life without Jody. Lilly & Marshall growing up without their mum it doesn’t bare thinking about. It’s so so sad.

Jody has had a lot of treatment on and off over the last 9 years and fought tirelessly against the cruel disease. Throughout this time the wonderful charity Ambers legacy supported Jody and her family.

Ambers legacy was set up by Ambers dad Darren who lost Amber to cervical cancer at 22 years old. They are a wonderful charity doing wonderful things for other people battling cervical cancer.

The Challange.

I will be running from Edinburgh to London self supported pulling a buggy with all my kit in. I.e. everything to support me on the road, tent, food etc. I will be running an average of 36 miles a day to complete the challenge in 14 days.

I plan to start on the 18th May 2024 and finish on the 31st May.

All money raised will be split between Jody & Andrew’s children Lilly & Marshall & the charity Ambers legacy.

Im hoping the money raised will support Lilly & Marshall with their future and Ambers legacy with helping others fighting cervical cancer.
