Support the orphans of Swaziland

The devastation of AIDS is creating a generation of orphans in Swaziland.Though it's one of the smallest of all countries in Africa, Swaziland has the world's highest rate of HIV/AIDS infection. According to the 2012 HIV Incidence Measurement Survey, 31% of adults ages 18 to 49 have HIV.
Because of that, nearly 125,000 Swazi children have lost at least one parent to the epidemic. The country's orphans struggle every day for the bare necessities of life. The number of these young heroes is growing daily. Already, over 15,000 households in the country are headed by children who are trying to raise their little brothers and sisters by themselves.
Young Heroes is an organisation that supports these orphans and their care-givers and families by providing them funds for food, clothing and other essentials. Young Heroes monitors the distribution of funds on a regular basis to ensure that they are being utilised in an appropriate manner.
We are volunteering at Young Heroes for two weeks in January 2015 and will be experiencing the impact that this wonderful organisation has on people's lives first hand, including participating in site visits to sponsored families.
The purpose of this fundraising initiative is to raise funds for this organisation so that at the end of our two week volunteering program, we can share your donation with the organisation directly. All the funds you donate will be sent directly to Young Heroes and we are covering the costs of our own volunteering experience.
We ask that you make a contribution no matter how small or large to support those who are most vulnerable.
As a guide, it costs $30 per month to feed and clothe one child and our target is to help feed and clothe at least four children for one year. With your help we can make a direct impact on these lives and make an indirect impact on many, many more.
We will provide you with an update once we complete our volunteering so you can share in our experience and see exactly how your donation will make an impact.
