Jo' s Fundraising For Breast Cancer

Donation protected
My name is Joanne, Jo or Josephine to my friends. I turned 48 on the 24th November 2020.
I am mother of 4 beautiful children Ben (25) Britney (21) Paris (16) & Pixie mai (10) & Fiancee to my "My Man" Phil.. who has the patience of a saint, living with me & 3 girls.
I work for Pandora  & I am part of the Management Team in Tamworth & what an amazing Team it is, the support from The Team, Operations Manager,  HR & Directors have been amazing.

My Story So Far!
On the evening of the 09th November 2020, I found a lump in my left breast whilst bathing,  I had no other symptoms ie: Swelling, Redness, Skin Change but don't ask me how I just knew from the start that this wasn't a good lump, it was hard,  no movement and around 3cm in size.
The next morning  I called my GP, who advised due to the COVID situation she wouldn't ask me to surgery but would refer me to The Breast Unit at Burton Queens Hospital, which I was grateful for.
I received my call on the 11th November from Burton Breast Care Unit who advised me that I was booked in on the 25th November, the day after my birthday.
When arriving on the 25th I was advised that I would be receiving a mammogram,  ultra sound scan & a core biopsy and after this I would be meeting with my consultant Mr Rogers. When meeting Mr Rogers he inclined that the lump was concerning and this helped me prepare for the news that I would receive one week later,  receiving my biopsy results.
I returned a week later,  Phil was allowed to accompany me, although we are in Covid times, thank goodness as I received the news that I had oestrogen receptor-positive (ER-positive) Breast Cancer.

Fundraising.
Anyone that already knows me, over the years I have raised money by completing the Race for Life in Sutton Park, with friends along the way. I have helped a friend Sharon Fox (Sharon Fox Cancer Centre) and I've even visited St Giles Hospice to paint nails for a beautiful lady who was losing her life to Cancer, and managed to get married a week before cancer took her life.

So, I thought this is my time to raise some money, not just for cancer research, but for the Burton Hospital Breast Care Unit ( Queens Hospital).
The dedication of the Team is amazing, and with your help I would like to raise just a small amount to say thank you, for their support, information & guidance.

I am continuing my story on a blog that I have created today 07th January 2021 so that if you are unfortunate to travel a journey with Breast Cancer, it may shed a little light on what to expect.

Please follow my page: My Breast Cancer Journey
