Just after 3pm on Friday, November 17th, 250 firefighters responded to a seven-alarm fire in West Harlem. This massive fire, which took nearly 18 hours to get completely under control, has left a beloved family near and dear to us without a home. Gratefully, and most importantly, there was no loss of life. However, they have lost everything and are in desperate need of your assistance.
This devastation left the family, which has lived at that address for more than twenty years, and in the Harlem community for more than four decades, homeless.
This family needs everything. They need money to secure housing and as winter sets in they need support to buy all of the necessities to live (clothing, coats, shoes, winter boots, toiletries, food, etc.).
Please join us as we embrace this opportunity to stand by them as they begin the overwhelming process of starting over. Help us to affirm that in spite of the devastation that so many witnessed Friday evening, all is not lost.
